Social Sips and Ask Me Event

The Office of International Affairs and the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) have partnered to host two simultaneous events, Ask Me and Social Sips, on October 16, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. to highlight their Embrace the Difference campaign.

Ask Me: Located on the Ohio Union West Plaza, where you can ask your fellow Buckeyes from different cultures and backgrounds any question!
Social Sips: Located on the South Oval, where you are invited to to sit, sip and chat about different cultures and backgrounds!

Participate in Taste of OSU 2020

Ohio State international student organizations are invited to apply to participate in Taste of OSU 2020. Organizations can participate in the following ways: preparing international foods, displaying cultural booths, performing interactive activities or performing on stage. Taste of OSU will be on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 5-9 p.m. at the Ohio Union. Those interested in applying, please read the student participation guidelines and apply before the deadline on October 28, 2019 at midnight.

Join the Conversation

Global Engagement Night invites international and domestic students to interact and have cross-cultural discussions. Global Engagement Night takes place on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in 160 Enarson Classroom Building during spring and autumn. The next Global Engagement Night will be on October 15, and we will celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day. Snacks will be provided! Contact Shaniqua Ingol if you have any questions.

International Film Series

The Office of International Affairs collaborates with the Gateway Film Center to host a monthly international film series. Students have the chance to view films from around the world for free! The next film will be shown on Wednesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. at the Gateway Film Center. There is no registration, but plan on coming early because the first 30 students will receive free popcorn and soda! Admission is FREE for students with a BuckID and offered at regular price to the public. Contact Danya Contractor with questions.

Experience the Circleville Pumpkin Show

The Office of International Affairs' Global Engagement team will be going to the 2019 Circleville Pumpkin Show on Friday, October 18. The Circleville Pumpkin Show is considered the largest festival dedicated to pumpkins.The deadline to register is October 14, 12 p.m. Space is limited and participation is on a first come, first served basis. Plan to meet at the Ohio Union bus turnaround (12th Avenue) by 4 p.m. Make sure to bring money for food and souvenirs. This event is for Ohio State students only.

Apply to Become A Resident Advisor

Resident Advisors (RAs) are peer leaders who supervise students living in the residence halls. The application opens Monday, October 14. RAs must be enrolled as full-time students during their terms of employment and be in good standing with the university. As well, RAs must have completed 24 credit hours prior to starting the role and be at least in their second year.

Student Lifes Student Wellness Center is looking for student volunteers to provide accessible peer-to-peer support that promotes and enhances student development and well-being. The Buckeye Peer Access Line (PAL) is a non-emergency talk line that serves as a proactive approach for students navigating stress management, pressure to succeed, sense of belonging, relationship management and more. Learn more about the Buckeye PAL line and volunteer expectations by attending an information session.
