Dear Friend,
I know I’m not the only one having a hard time recalling what day it is but believe it or not it is now July! Making small adjustments to our daily patterns, like reading more, requires real effort and we look for a tangible reward for our successes. The library is here to help.
The Friends-sponsored Summer Reading Program for adults, teens, and children is in full swing. You can get all the details on the library website.
Community Art Group
As part of the Summer Reading Program, Molly is leading a new Community Arts Group that shares tips and tricks with crafts and art forms such as paper crafts, smashing blooms art, natural dyes, hand building with clay to name a few. The online calendar will show you all upcoming projects offered on Wednesdays.
Are you looking to get out and explore (safely) the different museums and attractions that NH has to offer? The museum passes, sponsored by the Friends, are available for library card holders, with free or discounted admission to places like the NH State Parks, Squam Lakes Science Center, and many more. Please check the website for current information on how to reserve a pass.
Do you know about the Friends AmazonSmile account? It’s just like shopping for books on Amazon except that the library will get a % of each purchase. By going to smile.amazon.com , you can choose to sponsor your favorite charitable organization (Friends, wink wink) with every purchase that you make from Amazon! There is no increase to any of your purchases.
If you have not already heard, Gilford Old Home Day has been cancelled this year, and as such, there will be no book or pie sale. While the sales will be greatly missed, the health and wellness of our Friends, the Library Staff, and visitors is much more important. This does mean that the book sale cart in the front foyer will be stocked often with great book selections at bargain prices.
