Clear and consistent information of pregnancy risk factors and pregnancy behaviors allow decision makers and health care providers to better serve current and prospective parents, in addition to the state of North Dakota and its communities.
In this article, Grace Njau, Nancy Hodur, and Chelsey Hukriede,
share recent findings from the 2017 North Dakota Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) survey regarding pre- and post-birth behaviors among recent North Dakota mothers. This information is useful in identifying women and infants at high risk for health problems, for monitoring changes in health status, and in measuring progress toward goals for improving the health of mothers and infants in North Dakota.
