20 December 2021 | CV Cyber Academy

Dear CV Cyber Academy Families,

This is our last Monday Memo for 2021. I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone a peaceful and enjoyable winter recess with family and friends. I hope that this holiday season has and will continue to bring joy to you and your family.

Please continue to review your child's progress through the coursework. It is strongly encouraged to utilize this Winter Recess to get caught up on any coursework that may be behind pace. All coursework must be completed by end of the day on January 13. Any incomplete work will be marked as zero and will have an impact on the course grade. These upcoming days are a great time to get back on pace!

This will be the final Monday Memo reminder about learning pathway changes for the start of the 3rd nine weeks. As was discussed when registering for the CV Cyber Academy, transitions between learning pathways can occur at each marking period. The second marking period will end on January 13. If you would like your child to change their learning pathway, please complete this Google Form no later than January 3, 2022. This will allow the district approximately 2 weeks to prepare for the new learning pathway for your child. The next opportunity for a learning pathway change will be in late March.

Best wishes for the year ahead!

Below are the building-specific updates. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

  • Did you know that CVIS has a Colt Closet? The Colt Closet is a collection of clothing items, shoes, jackets, and personal hygiene items for students in need. The PTG continues to graciously sponsor and support the Colt Closet to build up the inventory. The Colt Closet currently has various sizes of boys' and girls' clothing, coats, and shoes. If you are a family in need of items for your child, please click here to complete a form requesting items. Once you've completed the form our school counselor will reach out privately to you. Colt Closet items are based on availability. We will do our best to support any family who completes the form based on the items in stock.

Middle School
  • T-Shirt Drive for National Junior Honor Society, Nov. 15- Dec. 22
  • The National Junior Honor Society is hosting a T-Shirt drive to benefit ZipWithUs, a charity that makes and donates custom port-access ZipShirts to pediatric hospitals & cancer patients nationwide. A Zip With Us shirt enables a child to keep his/her clothing on during the painful process of port device accessing during chemo, infusions and blood draws. This simple design maintains dignity, provides a sense of security, and makes hospitals less scary.
  • We are collecting brand new T-shirts: sizes 2T-Adult XL that can be dropped off in the middle school office. Themes of dinosaurs, Disney characters, video games, princesses, trucks/cars, animals, and superheroes are some of the most loved.
  • Learn more about ZipWithUs and how you can help.
