Baruch Dayan Emet (Praised be the Judge of Truth)
It is with deep sadness that we inform the congregation of the passing of Evie (Evelyn) Shapiro. She was comfortable and at peace in her final days at the Fairfield County Hospice residence in Stamford, surrounded by beloved family members.

Evie is survived by her two daughters, Jami Fener (TBE's Engagement Coordinator) and Lauren Chitalia, her two sons in law, Scott Fener and Santosh Chitalia, and two grandchildren, Matthew Fener and Sophia Chitalia. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Besman of Monroe Township, NJ, and brother, Arthur Siegel of Los Angeles, CA, and her long time companion Alan Rosenberg, is Plainview, NY. She is pre-deceased by her husband Marc Shapiro, who passed away in 2011.

The funeral will be on Monday (Sept 2) at 2 pm at Temple Beth El. Interment is at Beth El Cemetery.

Shiva will be at Evie's house immediately after the interment, at 2 Richards Ave, Unit 1, Stamford CT 06905 (corner of Hoover). Shiva will continue from Tuesday through Thursday from 1:00pm - 3pm and then from 5pm - 8pm, as well as Friday from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.

Per Evie's request, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Temple Beth El.

May the mourners be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
