A new study focused on nurses found that sleeping an extra 30 minutes each night can be the key to improving mindfulness, which in turn, reduces sleepiness during the day.

The study, led by researchers at USF's School of Aging Studies, followed 61 nurses for two weeks and examined multiple dimensions of sleep health and its impact on daily mindfulness.

Congratulations to Assistant Professor Yolanda Torres, who was appointed as faculty representative to the Status of Latinos Committee.

This USF Presidential Advisory Committee works on matters affecting Latino faculty, staff, and students as well as USF's relationship with the Latino community. Torres' appointment is for three years, ending with the 2021-2022 school year.

USF College of Nursing Professor Barbara A. Redding is stepping down as the Concentration Director of Nursing Education in Graduate Programs beginning in January.

She will continue to be a member of the nursing faculty. As concentration director, she was known for her student-centric approach and strong voice for nursing education.
