ANNOUNCING NEW MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS!

The IFSPT is pleased to announce the addition of new member organizations! Asociación de Kinesiologica del Deporte (Argentina) and the Belgian Federation of Sports Physiotherapy have joined Chile, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea as new members of our organization. In addition, our newest member organization, Zambia, will be profiled soon.

Meet your new Member Organizations!

The Belgian Federation of Sports Physiotherapy unites all Belgian Sports Physiotherapists and is part of the IFSPT.

The Belgian Federation of Sports Physiotherapy was established in 2005 by Prof. Dr. Romain Meeusen, co-author of the SPA project.

The mission of the Belgian Federation of Sports Physiotherapy (BFSP) is to represent the interests of all Belgian sports physiotherapists at both the national and international level.

BFSP has been officially recognized as the representative of Belgian sports physiotherapists since 2019, both nationally by AXXON and internationally by IFSPT.

We aim to:
Promote knowledge transfer and exchange of expertise among professionals, as well as promote research and development in the field of sports physiotherapy.

It is within this framework that the BFSP has already organized several inter-university congresses (Ghent, Leuven, Louvain-La-Neuve) and also guarantees the quality in 2 annual peer reviews that fit within quality promotion. The ABCIG Sports Physiotherapy will also be a consultation platform within which sports physiotherapists can share their concerns and ambitions for the future.

Promote the quality and methods of practicing sports physiotherapy on the basis of EBP by assigning a label to each effective member who meets the quality criteria.

The members who are recognized as sports physiotherapists by BFSP will therefore be visible on both the BFSP website and the AXXON Sports Physiotherapy website. This way you can make your commitment as a sports physiotherapist and commitment to quality care visible in your network.

Promote the role of sports physiotherapist in health policy in Belgium, both in prevention and in promoting a healthy lifestyle based on physical activity and sport.

We invite every physiotherapist who shares our passion for sports physiotherapy to become a member of BFSP in order to shape our future together.

Prof. Dr. Erik Witvrouw - chairman of BFSP
On behalf of the entire BFSP board of directors

The first School of Physical Therapy was created in 1937 in the University of Buenos Aires. It is one of the oldest in Latin America.

The Sports Physical Therapy Association of Argentina (Asociación de Kinesiología del Deporte) was founded in 1996 and it currently has about 350 members.

Argentina has a great sports tradition and many successful figures in several sports, such as football, basketball, tennis, rugby, field hockey, volleyball, and handball. Some of them are internationally renowned.

Our congress is held every two years. The next one will be in 2020 and it will be our 12th edition. Karen Silbernagel, Peter Malliaras and David Logerstedt have been some of our keynote speakers, among other leading figures in the field.

We have recently developed an open and free online course called "Course of Research Methodology on Sports Physical Therapy" (Curso de Metodología de la Investigación en Kinesiologia Deportiva ). You can find it on youtube at

It is our intention to follow this path developing an app in the field of research in the near future.

We have recently rejoined the IFSPT as an active member!
