NewsTrain, APME’s traveling workshop for journalists, is coming to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Sept. 27.

Milwaukee NewsTrain attendees will experience a full day of digital training taught by accomplished journalists. Sessions include:

  • Mobile newsgathering with your smartphone
  • Making the smart choices in how to pitch and tell a story
  • So, you have an idea for a podcast
  • Using audience analytics to get your story read
  • Morning management track sessions include:
  • Having difficult conversations
  • Managing tension between generations

Maribel Perez Wadsworth wins the 2019 Robert G. McGruder Award for Diversity Leadership
Maribel Perez Wadsworth, the president of the USA TODAY Network and publisher of USA TODAY, is the recipient of the 2019 Robert G. McGruder Award for Diversity Leadership, the News Leaders Association announced Tuesday.

The ASNE and APME Boards are built of some of the top leaders in the journalism industry, so as a special perk of attending our conference, we are raffling off some one-on-one time with these leaders.

We will be raffling off 35 hangouts and will be announcing the winners during the week leading up to the conference.
