Welcome Mustangs!
We are happy to welcome you to the 2019-2020 Redmond High School year!
Let's get things done together! Please mark your calendar and join us at our first 2019-2020 General Membership meeting on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, in the RHS Library from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Meet your PTSA representatives and learn how the PTSA enriches every RHS student.
Remember to join the RHS PTSA today - By becoming a RHS PTSA member you support child advocacy at the school, community and state level, and, importantly, you have a voice vote on what we do for the RHS community! Visit our website to join online.
While on the website,
you can also donate to the RHS PTSA through our “Pass the Hat” fundraising campaign. It is our one main fundraiser with a goal of $25,000. Donations are used to fund projects for the school, including department and teacher grants for classroom equipment/enhancements, scholarships for graduating seniors, emergency preparedness supplies, and much more. You can make your donation on our website by clicking the button below or in person during Curriculum Night! Your PTSA donation can be matched by many companies.
PTSA Board Happenings:
Your RHS PTSA Board members attended the annual
WA State PTA Region 2 Training, August 22nd. Region 2 covers Eastern King County (Bellevue, Issaquah, Lake Washington, Mercer Island, Riverview and Snoqualmie) school districts. State and local PTA Leaders conducted the six-hour training, which included topics such as PT and the Law, FACE, Advocacy, Membership, Managing Your Non-Profit, and Presidents 101, to name a few. Each Board member is required by the State PTA to attend a minimum of one training course per year.
Please watch for information coming home with your student including important forms for both RHS and PTSA. You will find information on PTSA membership, volunteering at RHS, SAT/ACT registration and much more! Your student will receive their packet during Homeroom on the first day of school.
Keeping informed: RHS PTSA works closely with the administration and staff and has been supporting the Redmond High School community for over 30 years. Communication is crucial between home and school; to help facilitate that communication we update our website constantly with the latest updated information for you and your student. Please be sure to bookmark our website, follow us on Facebook, subscribe to our weekly e-newsletter the Mustang Messenger to keep up with that is going on at RHS!
Sincerely,
Meredith Cain and Michelle Obenaus
RHS PTSA Co-Presidents

NOTE ABOUT ONLINE FEES
As more people have been purchasing their PTSA items online we have been paying a higher percentage of transaction fees each year. This year we are asking that people who sign up for a membership, buy a ticket, make a donation, etc. pay those transaction fees. You will see the fees in your cart before you check out with your credit card. If you do not wish to pay the transaction fees, please use the printed forms from your first day packet (students will receive these in homeroom on Tuesday). Completed forms should be sent with your check to the high school marked to the attention of RHS PTSA. Forms and payment may also be turned in on Curriculum Night, September 18th. Thank you for supporting RHS PTSA.

GRAD NIGHT IS MONDAY, JUNE 15, 2020 10 PM - 6 AM
It’s an epic all night graduation party with all your friends! You won’t know where we’re going, but we promise you will have so much fun at each location we go to. Last year’s senior class went to ACME Bowling where they got to bowl, wrestle in a giant inflatable, play fear factor and arcade games galore, take pictures in a photo booth, and then go to the Pacific Science Center for a laser light show, and hypnotist. This year one of the locations we will be going to is new and guaranteed to be amazing! You’ll get to eat good food, hang out with your friends, enjoy a bunch of fun-filled activities, and win prizes. It’s the best way to end high school, before heading off to the next chapter of your life! You can buy your tickets on the PTSA website by clicking the button below.

ATTENTION JUNIOR PARENTS
The RHS PTSA sponsors an
all-night drug and alcohol-free graduation celebration, called Grad Night! This event requires
many parent volunteers. Let’s face it, seniors don’t want mom and/or dad at their party, and mom and dad are tired from the whole day/year of events! This is why we need you. As parents of a junior we are asking that you pay it forward and volunteer to make this event a success, and then next year you get to go home and relax after graduation! There are many spots that we need help with; chaperones, checking students in for the event, and loading them onto buses, etc. We can’t do it without you and we are determined to make it a success every year, so please sign up to help out by clicking the button below. Your junior student thanks you!

Tests results are provided back to the students in the form of a detailed Score Report that identifies individual strengths and areas for improvement.

Counselors experience a very high volume of emails and calls each August due to questions about course planning, schedules, and enrolling new students. This volume does not allow for us to offer individual sit-down appointments regarding schedules or course selection. If you are a new student to RHS, please contact Jeanie Palm to enroll and schedule a time to attend our enrollment session.
