IECMHC Connector - August 2020
Affinity Conversations
Space is limited!

The Center of Excellence is pleased to continue the COVID-19 Conversation by offering a series of Affinity Conversations. These conversations are open to anyone in the mental health consultation community.

We will offer small groups to allow for deeper conversation, brainstorming and sharing. These sessions will be facilitated by Center of Excellence faculty, but are a time for YOU to bring thoughts, ideas and challenges.

Past participants shared the following:

  • It’s great to know that we’re using the most up-to-date practices in our state…we’re about where everyone else is… this is reassuring!
  • It’s so helpful to learn from others about the experiences of teachers, families, and children. I’m hoping to use this to begin support groups for teachers and parents.

Please note: If you sign up for a conversation, this spot will be held for you, so please only sign up if you believe you will be able to attend. Registration will be limited to 20 participants per session.
Equity in IECMHC Webinar Series
The Center of Excellence, in partnership with the Children's Equity Project, concluded its four part equity series last month with its final webinar, entitled "Culture, Identity, History as Sources of Strength and Resilience for Latino Children and Families".

The purpose of the Equity in IECMHC Webinar Series is to promote equity through IECMHC by building awareness of the impact of institutional racism and other forms of bias on the experiences of children and families from marginalized communities and identifying policies and strengthening culturally responsive practices that reduce disparities and improve child outcomes.
