Meeting Recap
"We'll be friends forever, won't we, Pooh?" asked Piglet.
"Even longer," Pooh answered.
Nathan Rosario '26 announced the AISNE Middle School Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference happening next Saturday, November 7, online from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The keynote speakers are Ruby Bridges and Joddy Nwankwo '18 (our very own BVR alum!). The conference also includes workshops. Students received an email to sign up by tomorrow.
Ms. Kuntz announced the winter activities taking place during the midday block and afternoon block beginning on Monday, November 9. Students were sent a form to sign up for their first, second, and third choices.
Gabe Cohen '25, Student Council President, announced this year’s 8th grade Student Council representatives who will split the job—Max Levy '25 will serve now until late February, then Jack Strom '25 will serve from February to the end of the year. Student Council will have a meeting tomorrow at 11:25 a.m.
We are continuing with our Wellness classes led by Tammy Graham, Middle School Counselor. Classes will cover mental health topics; and the first one will be focused on life in a pandemic. Next week's wellness classes will take place on Tuesday, November 3 at 1:30 p.m. for section 7.3 Science. Ms. Graham will send a Meet link to students. All classes are virtual, take place during BVRFIT, and happen about once a month.
Bailey Litchman '25 and Skyler Montgomery '25 encouraged students who are interested to sign up to be on the yearbook staff. Yearbook staff members take pictures and design the Middle School yearbook pages. Bailey and Skyler were on members last year and had a lot of fun putting together last year’s pages!
☃️ Winter is coming! I reminded students we will continue to be outside for snack, lunch, any fitness classes (BVR Fit, sports) and music classes even as it gets colder. I encouraged them to wear coats, hats, gloves, etc to school everyday.
Stage 3 begins on Monday! We are excited to welcome students back to campus three days a week (most weeks). We showed them the November schedule and talked about how MS Community time will now be on Fridays, and a class that was on Fridays will now be on Thursdays. (See the weekly class schedule here.)
Today was the first of a two day the BVR Connect, Explore, Practice & Do Conference. We shared the schedule for today. Teachers are using time today and tomorrow to prepare for Parent/Guardian-Teacher Conferences, and we’re excited to offer this programming to your students.
🎃 And let's not forget our Halloween celebration! Students went into small groups and selected the best costume in each room, then the whole school came back to share those amazing costumes. Charlie Miller’s '25 dog and Sasha Mitchell '26 were nominated for best overall costume!
Reminder: All the latest information you need about the 2020-21 Beaver Middle School experience—including links to past MS Meeting Recaps—is available on the Middle School section of our website.
Parent-Guardian/Teacher Conference Dates: November 6, November 13, and November 20.
