October 13, 2019 ~ Building Community One Positive Story at a Time
LaLiberte families,
We would like to take a minute and thank you for a FANTASTIC night! What an amazing feeling to have 350 people come to Rob Surette's show at our school.
The show during the day was AMAZING with all the kids. The roof was almost blown off the building because of the kids excitement. And than at night again an amazing show from this FABULOUS self-taught speed painter, Rob Surette!
The feedback we have received has been amazing! This is why we LOVE what we do!!
Rob Surette kindly donated a beautiful painting of Lady Liberty to the school and the Doorprize was won by The Stratton Family. The raffle prize was won by Ava Pereira from Mrs McSweeney's 2nd grade class. Congratulations on your paintings.
Good Luck on your Boosterthon Funrun Fundraiser, LaLiberte! If they we reach their goal of $45.000 this year, Mrs Hargraves will dye her hair pink and every top pledger of every class will be able to Pie Mrs Hargraves and Mr Poulos in the face. You can probably imagine how excited the kids are about that! As of Friday, With 367 students registered, we are now at $9,733.83. The donations are coming from 15 states and 5 countries - United States, Albania, Australia, United Arab Emirates, and United Kingdom. WOW!
Top students are: Alli Stankewicz from 4th grade Dr. Tibbett's class, Emmitt Higuera from 4th grade Mrs. Eastman's class, and Valentina Koulogeorgiou from 4th grade Ms. Perkins' class. Congratulations!!
Pledges can be collected until the Funrun on Oct 21, if you wish to donate and don't know a LaLiberte student, contact lpo.laliberte@gmail.com Thank you so much for your ongoing support!
 Historical Tidbit:
The Pleasant Street School

"In 1957, the Pleasant Street School was built. The Raynham Junior High was built in 1965 close to the Pleasant Street School. In 1960, Raynham became a member of the Bridgewater Raynham Regional School District, sharing construction costs of a new high school to be built in the neighboring town of Bridgewater.

Dr. E. Joseph LaLiberte became the first full-time school superintendent for Raynham. The name Barbara Sullivan, who was principal of the Pleasant Street School, was synonymous with discipline and a drive for excellence in education. Miss Sullivan retired in 1969. The Pleasant Street School is now known as the Lillie B. Merrill School."

How to Rake Without the Ache!
Never continue to do one task using the same hand and the same repetitive motion. It can lead to aches and a weakened posture that can cause injury. Switch hands while raking, spending a few minutes on each side of the body so both get worked and neither gets overworked.
