SFIC ONLINE BRIEFING FOR FAITH LEADERS

"ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OBSERVANCE OF THE
JANUARY 6, 2021 ATTACK ON THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL"

Earlier today, the San Francisco Interfaith Council (SFIC) hosted the 68th in a series of COVID-19 response briefings for faith leaders. Today's briefing featured a presentation by United States Department of Justice (DOJ) Community Relations Service (CRS) Special Assistant for AANHPI Issues with the San Francisco Field Office Justin Lock. Mr. Lock addressed the instrumental role played by the CRS in facilitating dialogue with faith based leadership and the ways that communities of faith can be prepared to respond to incidents through interfaith awareness and exchange, holistic preparedness, and ministering to heal division and trauma. He also highlighted the pivotal position of faith leadership in not only responding to, but inoculating against racial hate and bias.
