A big thank you to Susan Loselle, Mary Lee Clayton, Dorothy Packer and their committee as well as Elizabeth Greenawalt, our Office Manager, for making the Clothing Tag Sale such a success. It was our biggest clothing sale to date with total net sales coming in at $14,000. Bravo!
With the clothing sale behind us and Sip & Savor as well, we're looking ahead to our December fundraiser. Let's help Dorothy Curran and her committee make "Sounds for A Starry Night" a successful evening. It's a world class concert brought to you in a very intimate space, our Clubhouse...don't miss out, buy your tickets today, send it out to your friends and invite them as well. There's limited seating!
The holiday season is upon us and this is the time when I get to thank all of you for your wonderful contributions to the Westport Woman's Club.
It is only because of all of you, our members, helping with our fundraisers, participating on our committees and supporting us with financial contributions of your dues that we are able to continue to make such a difference in the lives of our scholarship and grant recipients.
I remind you and thank you for all of this before I make my plea to remember this worthwhile organization in your year-end giving or to add the WWC as a beneficiary to your will. Yes, the fundraisers fund our grants and scholarships that we give out every year, but we have a house and grounds to maintain. Lea Ruegg understood this. You all know that for many years we have given out a Reugg Grant. The endowment has recently been dissolved and we have been given a one-time bequest of $160,000 to add to our investments. Her generous bequest has helped and will continue to help the WWC with its work for many, many years to come.
If you would like to make a contribution or add the WWC as a beneficiary in your will as Lea Ruegg did to create the Ruegg Grant, I hope you know that your generosity will have a lasting impact on the Westport community.
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays!
