Dear FVS Community,

I write with only a short update this week and a public service announcement video that I hope you will find informative and entertaining.

I’m pleased to share that our student who was diagnosed with COVID-19 has completed the required isolation in accordance and compliance with El Paso County Department of Health guidelines, and has resumed “normal” life here on campus. This student remained asymptomatic throughout, which is a best-case scenario for them, but also provides an important reminder to us all of the unique challenges posed by this disease. Specifically, it is possible to carry COVID-19 and transmit it to others without any indication of infection.

Therefore, It remains critically important that we closely follow our Community Commitment, and in particular, wear a mask, practice social distancing, and maintain good personal hygiene throughout the day. And in support of this, I hope you will enjoy the video we’ve made to reinforce this message…

Moving forward, in the coming weeks, we will transition these weekly updates into a reinvented and rebranded weekly communication from the Deans’ Office that will be designed to provide concise, distilled information that will prepare you with what you need to know for the week ahead.

Have a great weekend, and as always, take good care, stay safe, and be well.
