Greetings AAC Members,

Summer is definitely here with the hot temperatures we have had in July! We will have to remember these warm days when January comes. I hope you are all well and taking care of yourselves.

The AAC has been open since July 1, and it has been wonderful to see familiar faces returning to check out books, play billiards, watch TV, use the computers and chat with a friend. During the month of August, the AAC will continue to be open for limited use and with limited room capacity. Members are expected to wash hands before entering the AAC as well as wear a face covering. At this time, we are unable to offer scheduled District drop-in programs. We will continue to monitor guidelines as they become available and make adjustments as allowed. I will keep you updated should programs become available, and appreciate your understanding during this time. Modified AAC hours are:
  • Monday through Thursday, 9am until 8pm
  • Friday and Saturday, 9am until 4pm
  • Sunday,  1-4pm
Have you heard? The St. Charles Park District is hosting Drive-In Concerts each Thursday evening through August 20. A different band will play each Thursday. Bring a snack or purchase a pizza from Charlie Fox's on site, pack your lawn chairs and enjoy some music. Concerts are held at James O. Breen Community Park. Entrance fee is $5 per car. Use the link to search Drive in Concerts to purchase your spot. I will be working the concert on August 20, so hope to see some of you there!

For those of you wondering, Tai Chi classes will resume in September! Registration will open in early August.

If you have never cruised on the St Charles Paddlewheel Riverboats, this is the year to do so. The Riverboats are celebrating their 75th anniversary! Inside the south lobby at Pottawatomie Community Center, there is a lovely display showing the history of the Riverboat fleet on the Fox River that you can view before or after your cruise. In September, AAC Members can cruise together on the Wholly Guacamole Fiesta Cruise. Registration details are below. Space is limited so reserve your spot for a delicious lunch and relaxing cruise. Just click the image below!

Feel free to drop by to say hello if you are in the area. I would love to see you.
Be well!

Sincerely,

Lynne Yuill
