Coronavirus information
At the Delaware Area Career Center, the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. With the recently elevated discussion regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the news, we want to take a moment to reinforce preventive safety measures and reference our process and communications.

As a school district, we are closely monitoring the situation and taking guidance from local and federal health officials as well as working with our staff to take necessary precautions. Please remember that if your child is sick, he or she should not be at school. Students need to be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to class after any illness.

The Delaware Area Career Center will continue to follow CDC recommendations to prevent any infection of a respiratory virus. As a school district we model these behaviors every day and we ask that you continue to reinforce these behaviors at home. Click here for more information about COVID-19 from our superintendent.

DACC Weather Delay Schedule
DACC's Weather Delay schedule has recently been updated.  When DACC is operating on a delay, the new schedule will allow for more equal time in labs and academics at DACC and more closely align to our home districts' schedules.

Some key points are:
  • The main change with this 1-Hour Delay Schedule is that morning lab will now dismiss at 11:17am (instead of 10:50am).
  • If DACC is operating on a delay schedule and the buses for a particular school need their students dismissed before our A.M. Lab release time, we will make an announcement to dismiss those particular students.
  • See attached for the DACC Weather Related Communication...this addresses all possible scenarios with respect to weather.
  • The only instance that we would utilize our 2-Hour Delay Schedule is if all of our home districts are operating on a 2-Hour Delay.  Otherwise, we will operate on a 1-Hour Delay.
Attendance Phone Number
Parents of students who are going to be absent are to call the Attendance Office before 9am the morning of the absence or provide a written note excusing the absence upon return. Please call (740) 203-2268 to reach our automated attendance line or email [email protected].
