Here at BEC, we have an intention of creating a welcoming and inspiring place to join as environmental advocates and offering our space as a resource. So, on
October 5th, we were lead by local muralist, Wyatt Hersey, in collectively painting an original BEC themed mural in our office.
We welcome you to come by the office and see the final mural!

We are seeing a rise in demand for waste reduction and composting education in Butte County schools and we couldn't be happier.
In light of this trend, we encourage you to start a home composting system. Here's an image our RARE Coordinator created to help people get started. Email RARE@becnet.org for more information from Julia!

BEC representatives have been closely following urgent water issues in Butte County. A new proposal, the Tuscan Water District, is moving quickly onto the scene of water control in Butte County under the concern of recharge in the Vina Subbasin. The public needs more involvement on these decisions in Butte County and we are voicing the opposition to slow this process of enacting a special water district in an effort to gain more scientific based knowledge for recharge needs. We will continue to attend meetings with fellow water watchers and we hope to see our greater community involved. The next
Water Commission Meeting is on November 6th
