We Started With Why

WHY: We gather because… ~Some of us are having new awareness of racism, white supremacy, police brutality, etc. ~ Scripture calls us to love our neighbor (Mark 12:30-31) and our Baptism calls us to "strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being" (BCP, 305). ~Our new awareness urges us to name and witness to injustice so that we can begin to repent, a process of confession and intentional turning in a new direction. ~ Our goal is to support each other in learning, taking action, and reflecting so that we can grow our capacity for being antiracist Christian parents.

HOW: We gather in this way... ~ We'll gather monthly via Zoom ~ We'll work together to create a supportive environment ~ We'll focus on reflecting and supporting each other, not telling each other what to do

WHAT: This will look like... ~ Learning one thing monthly on our own, based on our own interest ~ Taking one antiracist action monthly on our own (small or large) ~ Reflecting together to process, grow, and support each other ~ Tackling one practical issue together each month such as "how do you explain what racism is"
