When Radiesse is thinned to a liquid and injected superficially, it acts like a stimulating agent rather than a volumizing filler.

It produces increased collagen and elastin in the areas it's injected resulting in improved tone, elasticity and pliability. Fine lines, crepiness, necklace lines on the neck and loose skin anywhere on the body can be improved. By increasing skin thickness, it can also reduce the dimpling seen with cellulite.

Sculptra is another stimulating agent that until recently was known most for producing volume but can be diluted more than usual and used in the same way.

In addition to injecting these stimulants, they can be applied when Profractional treatments are done to produce even more dramatic results. The tiny holes made by the Profractional laser allow the diluted stimulant to reach the layer of the skin where new skin is produced. Using both together is especially helpful with reducing the lines around the lips, outside the corners of the mouth, & under the eyes.

Results from these biostimulatory injections start to become visible around four weeks after treatment.

One to three treatments done about one month apart may be needed in the first year to achieve optimal aesthetic results with maintenance treatments recommended every 12 – 18 months as needed. An average of 2 syringes is usually needed to do the upper arms, chest or inner thighs.
