Digital Age: A Lecture by April Reign

While progress was made in 2017, the success of the film Moonlight at the Academy Awards only serves to highlight the missed opportunities for Hollywood. Our #MYSERVICESTORY for the week comes from Jillian Doherty, a seniorIndustrial/Organizational Psychology major from Warren, MI!

Fun Fact! My family got a new cat this December that we, or rather our dogs, found under our deck!

At which service sites / community partners have you served or been a student liaison?
I have served at Boys Hope Girls Hope, Building Hope in the City, Chopping for Change and CHUH Options Program

"One of my favorite service sites is Building Hope in the City because the people at Hope Alliance Church who run it are so genuine and truly care for the well-being of the students. During my three semesters of tutoring the same student, I have seen her grow academically and personally. I am able to eat dinner with her almost every week and hear how her life, classes and family are doing. It has been such a meaningful experience and one in which I have observed how the church community has become part of our John Carroll Community."
Each week  we feature stories of students who have made service a cornerstone of their JCU experience. Complete the form below to show us how you #ServeCLE!
We’ll share your story  on social media and in our weekly e-newsletter. If you’re a CSSA student liaison, you’ll earn points for your mentor group!
