Jakub, a farmer, was born in Kurima. His wife, Hana, was born in Miková, and their oldest son, Abrahám, was born in Komárno. The other children were born in Bardejov. Sara, Leopold, Izák, and Šimon were farmers. The family lived on Nová Street. Leopold was deported to Poprad on April 8, 1942, and on April 23, 1942, to Auschwitz where he perished on June 6, 1942. An exemption was issued for the rest of the family. In 1944 they left Bardejov for Zemianska Kert. Hana, and her sons, Leopold and Henrik perished. Jakub and six children survived. Abrahám, Izák, and Gizela returned to Bardejov on June 21, 1945. Abrahám reported that he returned from Germany where he used a false name of Jidrnak. Izák also used a false name of Jan Zbihleg and Gizela that of Mária Keselie. The three were in hiding together. Upon their return to Bardejov, they took up residence on Nova Ulica Street.
