John Carroll has received the 2020 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification. The classification is an elective designation that indicates an institutional commitment to community engagement. JCU is one of 13 institutions in Ohio and one of only 8% of institutions in the US to hold the classification. Thank you to the students, faculty, staff, and many individuals who helped make this classification possible. Click

Fun Fact!
I'm obsessed with whales!

Our #MYSERVICESTORY for the week comes from Catherine Grabowski, a senior Exercise Science major from Cleveland, OH!
At which service sites / community partners have you served or been a student liaison?
I have served at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, Fatima Family Center, Carroll Reads, YouthAbility Play Practice, and L’Arche
"I think my favorite service site so far has been at YouthAbility, helping with their play practice. Being that I want to work with individuals with disabilities after graduation, I was very eager to have the opportunity to work with the people from YouthAbility. They were such a fun, loving, and energetic group and they made going to service very enjoyable. It was great to be able to make connections with all of the participants. One individual would even meet us at the door each week and escort us in because he was so happy we were there! To this day I still see some of the people from YouthAbility and they never fail to put a smile on my face!

Each week

We’ll share your story
