March in Truro...
In March we pick up 78 minutes of additional daylight, enough to bring temperatures up about 5 degrees from February. Daylight Saving Time arrives Sunday, March 10 at 2am.
Longer days and the sun's higher arc in the sky should generate 10% more power from our solar panels.
According to past records, we are told to expect an average temperature of 36°F, with average lows of 29°F and highs of 44°F. We traditionally get an average total of 3 inches of rain and 8 inches of snow.
Below are some of the activities and events happening about town this month.

Students will gain understanding for the importance of mushrooms and the role they play in decomposition as well as the building of the soil food web. Students also will learn what they can do to support healthy soil and how healthy soil = healthy plants, which = a healthy body. Everyone will have a chance to look at the life cycles of different mushrooms, sample a smoothie, and visit the Truro Public Seed Library. Also, the Sustainable CAPE Children's Community Garden will be running weekly classes at the Truro Public Library every Thursday from 4pm-5pm, for children of all ages to get outside and have some fun!
