Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson's warning that yesterday's relatively low number of 591 new cases was an anomaly proved correct today as Arkansas saw its highest single-day rise in community cases.
The state has reported 1,013 cases in the last 24 hours, of those five are in prisons and 1,008 are in the community at large.
Of the cases reported today, 113 were in Pulaski County. Hutchinson had been naming all counties with more than 20 cases, but today chose to mention those that had less than 30 cases.
The state's hospitalizations saw an increase of six people, bringing that total to 480. Of the 480 people hospitalized, 107 are on ventilators.
There were six more deaths reported since yesterday, bringing the state's total to 386.
As of today, 7,009 cases are considered active with 146 in nursing homes, 869 in correctional facilities and 5,994 in the community.
