Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is ready for the excitement of a brand new year. 2022 is YOUR year to make that commitment to health and wellness -- Healthy You in ‘22!
New Year’s resolutions are very common to make at the start of every year. Listed below are a few tips on ways to achieve them:
- Thoroughly think through your resolution. One that you are willing to dedicate time and energy.
- Share your resolutions with friends and family. Sharing your resolutions with people makes you accountable for the resolutions. You will be less likely to break them when others know what you are trying to accomplish.
- Don’t overcommit. Pick one or two goals. It’s easier to keep one or two goals than several.
NRC can help you accomplish your goals with a full group fitness schedule, personal training, tennis programs and massage therapy. These services can provide the guidance that you need to accomplish any health and wellness goal. Also, we have developed a goal sheet for you to write down your goals. Grab one at Guest Services!
NRC loves to see our members exercising, but don’t ditch your outside workouts (if you like them). Exercising outdoors is safe to do throughout the year as long as you prepare and dress appropriately. Check the weather conditions including wind chill, dress in layers (not too warmly), know the signs and symptoms of hypothermia and frostbite and drink plenty of fluids. Sometimes a good run/jog/walk outside is good for your mental health.
