Twenty-Third Sunday after Pentecost

Weekly Chimes

Hello Old Donation!

I'm back from a wonderful week of vacation, and ready for the steady stream of activity that will take us into the new year. Starting with tonight!

This evening, our program will be presented in large part by Jim Pernini, who recently went to the " National Memorial for Peace and Justice" in Montgomery, AL and was deeply impacted by what he learned about racial violence and lynching. Jim will talk to us about his experiences there, and on the work of Bryan Stevenson and the Equal Justice Initiative, which will lead us into a discussion about "what's next." What do we do when we're confronted with a society and history that's clearly in conflict with our Christian morality? Dinner begins at 6:00, program and discussion follow at 6:30.

Saturday, we have a Fall Cleanup Day scheduled. Starting at 9:00am, come out and help beautify our campus! Winter is approaching, the leaves are falling, and we could use your help getting things tidied up for Oyster Roast. No need to RSVP, just show up with gloves and rakes. THANKS!

On Sunday, Bob will be preaching at 8:00, 10:30, and 5:00; I will be in the Gathering. Bob will also be moving into Part II of Paul and the Holy Spirit in our Paul in the Fall class in the Parish Hall, and Joe Tucker will continue facilitating his class-Saints Alive!-in the Music Room. Children and Youth formation continues as usual, though in the afternoon EYC will be going on a movie outing in the afternoon, so if you've got a teen, stay tuned for more info from Summer.

Stay warm out there, friends!
