Harvester Homecoming Follow-up

This past month we made the trip out to the 2nd held Harvester Homecoming located at the old IH Scout plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On our way there we made a stop at Farmall-Land USA in Avoca, IA. Although we had been there before, this would mark our last visit there as it is slated to close at the end of this month.
At Fort Wayne, we drove around and saw all the old International Harvester sights that are in and around Scout Industrial Park. From touring the Truck Development and Technology Center, to getting to park under the infamous International tower, to setting up our booth right next to the original Scout plant, what a honor to be able to visit all these historical places.
We didn’t get as many pictures of the event itself as the rain came in on Saturday a little strong so that kept us busy drying out all our parts and packing up the booth, but none the less it was still an awesome day visiting everyone we had a chance to chat with. The round trip of over 4300 miles was mostly uneventful and one we hope to repeat next year, regardless if the country is still half shut down from a virus.
Ultimate Adventure week is coming!

Stay tuned for updates on our Facebook and Instagram pages as we join some of the best offroaders out there and conquer some amazing terrain this country has to offer.

We have been hard at work for months getting White Scout ready with many upgrades including beefier Reid Knuckles on the front axle, Trail Ready 17” beadlock wheels, 37” Falken Wildpeake tires, RoostUSA pop up tent, a new 10000 pound 8274 model Warn winch and a fresh set of KC lights.

Where will we go this year? In the middle of a pandemic? You’ll just have to tune in starting Thursday September 10 as we head out for another Ultimate Adventure.

If you remember back to March in This months Out of the Garage feature, we showed you a 1976 Scout II that has been in our shop for a restoration. Well we have about got that project wrapped up and ready to deliver.
If you remember back, we made a few improvements to the Scout including a 392 engine and Hamilton Fuel Injection. Sporting a Isky camshaft, the 392 is mated to a T19 four speed transmission and a Dana 20 transfer case.
The Dana 44 axles have Auburn Gear Limited Slips and 3.54 ratio. The suspension consists of Skyjacker 4” lift springs, CPT Reverse Shackle kit and Bilstein shocks. The body has had all the rusty metal cutout and has the interior coated in Lizard Skin sound and heat liner and the outside shot in Destroyer Grey.

We promised you an update on this Scout in a future newsletter when we have it all done and here it is.
