EEHOA Board Meeting, Today, Monday, Nov 16, 1 pm
The monthly EEHOA Board Meeting will be today, Monday, November 16, at 1 pm, held online via Zoom.  The meeting is open to all homeowners, and you are welcome to join the Directors and attend the meeting online. The meeting room will open at 12:45 pm, and initially you will be placed in a waiting room until the meeting starts.  The meeting will come to order at 1 pm.  While in the online waiting room, you can check your audio, video, and microphone.  All attendees (except Directors) will have their microphones muted to begin the meeting.  Prior to any voting on motions before the Board, the homeowners will have an opportunity to ask questions or speak. The meeting agenda is below.

Topic: EEHOA Board Meeting
Time: November 16, 2020, 1:00 pm Arizona Time
2021 Board Member Election
From Ken Lindeman
Esperanza Estates Home Owners Association is managed by a volunteer board of directors.  Nine volunteers are on this board.  Each year the HOA has an election for three new board members.  The term for a board member is three years and three board member terms are up for replacement every three years.  My name is Ken Lindeman and I am chairing the nominating committee for the 2021 election.  I would like to encourage residents to volunteer for this board by entering their name for this upcoming election.  Please contact me at 970-577-3395 or email me at [email protected] if you would like to have your name on the ballot.
Planning For "Holiday Bling" Arts, Crafts, Etc. Driveway Sale
Esperanza Estates Artisans and Crafters are planning our Annual Crafts Sale with a clever twist this year to accommodate COVID precautions (masking and social distancing).  Instead of holding the sale in the Ramada, sellers will set up displays in their driveways (possibly a couple of sellers in one driveway). Buyers will be given a map for neighborhood locations, and will be encouraged to wear masks and social distance while shopping. The sale is scheduled for December 5.  Anyone interested in selling their Arts, Crafts,  Etc. (things-they-want-to-pass-on-to-a-new-owner) are welcomed to participate. Please call Debbie Ries, 425-530-6384, or Bernie Olson, 920-254-9277, to let them know if you'd like to be a seller.  Please come to the planning meeting, this Tuesday, Nov 17, 9 am at the Ramada.
Gardeners
From Mary Harp
The Gardeners' Group will meet on Tuesday, November 17 at 9:00 a.m.  Come help us identify plants and do some clean up.  Please bring your masks and keep good physical distance.  Call Rod Harp at 520.329.9103 if you have questions.
Food Donations at the Ramada
We have a donation box in the Ramada for non-perishable food donations.  Phil and Sandy LaVoi take items to the food shelf at the Good Shepard Church.  During this holiday season, if you can, please donate a little more.  The donations benefit many households in our area.
Turkey Trot Parade, November 27!!
Remember our EE Easter Parade last Spring?  Guess What!! We're having a Thanksgiving Parade!!
The First Annual Esperanza Estates Turkey Trot Golf Cart Parade will be Friday, November 27, at 1 pm.  (Yes, that's the day after Thanksgiving....but go with the flow here guys....)
Here's how it works....The parade is a caravan of EE residents who gather in vehicles (appropriately distanced apart) and snake through our neighborhood....waving, honking, shouting "Happy Thanksgiving" greetings, and generally sending good cheer and blessings to all in Esperanza Estates.
  • First, all Social Distancing guidelines will be observed and encouraged....wear your masks and other protective gear
  • Everyone is welcome to participate, either as a parade participant or as an observer from your driveway.  Bring a folding chair outside to join in the fun....what's a parade without watchers?
  • Participants' vehicles.....golf carts, cars, bikes, or other vehicles, will gather at Flag Park around 12:45 pm on Friday, November 27 to line up
  • Parade will start at 1:00 pm
  • Dress up (or not) as you wish (both participants and observers)....wear a Turkey suit, Pilgrim costume, War Bonnet headdress, or whatever (G rated of course).
  • Anyone have a Santa Suit? Anyone want to be our Santa for the Thanksgiving Parade?
  • Decorate (or not) your vehicle with colorful Fall and Thanksgiving decorations....leaves, flowers, streamers, pumpkins, flags....whatever you want to do
  • Make a sign or two (or not) with your Thanksgiving greeting
  • No throwing left-over turkey or pumpkin pie, but tossing a little candy might be ok
It's a new Esperanza Estates tradition!  It will be fun, and we'll be careful to stay safe.  Hope you'll join in!  For questions, call Terry and Donna Shay, 815-690-6178 (T) or 815-243-3402 (D)

Mark your calendars....
The next EE Golf Cart Parade will be the Jingle Bells Golf Cart Parade, Dec 17.  Guess what holiday that one will be celebrating!
Time to Decorate Your Lamp Post
EE has a long-standing tradition of decorating our street light posts for the holiday season from Thanksgiving to New Years.  If you don't have the time or the energy, or you aren't here during the holidays, you can enlist the aid of the Enhancement Elves. They will decorate your post for just $10 if you already have the decorations, or $15 if you don't.  If you need a plug adapter for the lamp socket, the charge is an additional $2.00, but the adapter is then yours. The charge includes both putting up and removing the decorations. The Elves start decorating November 23 and the deadline for requesting this service is December 5 (Santa has first dibs on the Elves after that.)  If you want the Elves to work their magic at your lamp post, call Jackie Rautio at 520-269-7864 or 602-206-3354. They do extremely nice work.
Book Club
From Linda Sielken

SHOUT OUT
The Sunset Park fountain has had a new water timer installed to replace the old one, which finally wore out. Kudos to Mary Grgich, who keeps the fountain water clear and clean by periodic placement of a chlorine tab.

Kudos to Rod Harp, who is regularly seen working to beautify our common areas with new plantings and landscape maintenance. Rod also heads our Gardeners group. Many thanks Rod!

Also, thanks to Steve and Cyndie Alto who spent many hours this summer removing dead plants and planting new ones in EE.

We are a very fortunate neighborhood to have so many fabulous volunteers!
CARING CONNECTIONS
Joe Vitallo
We are very sorry to report that Joe Vitello, Regalo, passed away on October 30, after an ongoing illness and contracting the coronavirus.  Joe was well liked and known in Esperanza Estates for his handyman work and assistance with home repairs.  Our sincere condolences to his wife, Mary, who is also struggling with an ongoing illness.  No service is planned at this time.

Caring Connections is a way to share information about EE neighbors who may be experiencing a health crisis or need a little pick me up so neighbors can reach out to provide assistance.  If you know of a situation, please call Judy Hayes, 720-201-9260, or email [email protected].
FUNNY BONE

What do you call a cow with no legs?   Ground beef!
Thanks Grandson Travis Hayes!
Six allowed for Thanksgiving, but 30 for a funeral.
I will be holding a funeral for my pet turkey that will pass away on November 24.
Refreshments will be served.
Thanks Neighbor Eva Moller!
