ASH workshop on municipal smoking and vaping bylaws Action on Smoking & Health (ASH), Western Canada’s leading tobacco control organization, is hosting a free workshop to assist municipalities with the development of local smoking and vaping bylaws. The workshop follows AUMA’s Spring Municipal Leaders’ Caucus and will be held next door to the caucus venue.

Registration now open for spring Municipal Leaders’ Caucus Municipal leaders are invited to register for AUMA’s spring Municipal Leaders’ Caucus, which will be held at the Westin Hotel in Edmonton on March 25 and 26.

Register today for Council’s Role in Land Use Planning and Development Approvals The Elected Officials Education Program is offering Council’s Role in Land Use and Development Approvals on Tuesday, March 24 at the AUMA office in Edmonton, to make it easy for those who are coming to town for Spring Municipal Leaders Caucus to attend. The course provides participants an understanding of: the provincial-municipal relationship in planning; the roles of council, administration and the public; statutory and non-statutory plans; and the land application process, including re-designation and subdivision of land, development approvals, appeals and disputes.
