Admission to the museum is free. Everyone is invited to gather at Pondi in the Asia Society for lunch afterwards.  Please contact Gretta Boshara at  gboshara@comcast.net to RSVP or for any questions.

THE HOLY SPOKES ARE ROLLING AGAIN
This spring the Holy Spokes, Palmer's cycling group, will once again hit the road  to participate in the BP MS150, the largest charity ride in the country.  On May 2 -3  the Holy Spokes will join 13,000 other cyclists in cycling to  raise money to support research and services for those living with multiple sclerosis.  To join the team or find out more information about riding, contact Melanie Fahey at  melanie.fahey@gmail.com  or Jennifer Macia at  jennmacia@gmail.com .  The Holy Spokes ride together throughout the year, both for fun and in other charity rides.  Go to the team's fundraising page to make a donation.

SERVE SUNDAY PROJECT LEADERS NEEDED
We are looking for volunteers to lead specific projects for Serve Sunday on December 8.  The time commitment is minimal; some advance effort is needed to encourage participants and gather names of volunteers.  Responsibilities the day of the event include being the point person to greet our hosts, ensure needed supplies are on hand (food, tools, games), and assist Palmers who are participating in the event that day.  The projects and scope are identified for you.  By volunteering to be a project leader, you will give the folks who have dedicated themselves to lead specific groups in the past an opportunity to participate in other service opportunities.  Please contact Abigail Follmar, abigail92@sbcglobal.net (713-591-7181).

STEPHEN MINISTERS
Do you know someone who needs a Stephen Minister? A Stephen Minister is a member of Palmer who is trained to provide a listening ear, support and encouragement to those in the midst of crisis. They meet each week with their care receiver for as long as there is a need. Do you know someone who has suffered the loss of a loved one, is in hospital, going through a divorce or separation, is lonely, discouraged, in spiritual crisis, unemployed, suffering with a chronic illness, is incarcerated, aging, giving birth, adopting, recovering from a miscarriage or struggling with infertility? If you know anyone who could benefit from having a Stephen Minister, who will listen without trying to fix or give advice, please contact the Rev. Liz Parker ( lparker@palmerchurch.org) or Laurie Rigby ( laurie@rigbylaw.com

STAR OF HOPE URGENT NEEDS
Supplies of many items are low at the Star of Hope because donations slip after the summer, even though the number of people who need help remains the same. Our Palmer congregation received a special request, noting previous generous responses. All items should be new . Current high priorities are:
  • Twin Size Blankets
  • New underwear for men, women, boys and girls
  • Baby Wipes
  • Lotion & Soap - Not travel size
  • Shampoo & Conditioner - Large or Regular Sized
A complete list is available in Palmer's church office reception area. Look for a collection basket across from the reception desk. For more information, visit Star of Hope's website at www.sohmission.org.

PLEASE SEND US YOUR NEWS FOR PALMER PUBLICATIONS
