Garland Emergency Residential Assistance Program: In-Person Assistance Now Available
The City of Garland has partnered with Catholic Charities of Dallas Inc. to provide emergency mortgage and rental assistance to City of Garland residents impacted by COVID-19.

Catholic Charities is now offering in-person application assistance. Call 214-613-3164 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are available Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Garland's Central Library. No walk-ins, please. Bring documents listed at GarlandTX.gov to your appointment.

Catholic Charities Inc. is processing applications on a first-come, first-served basis. While we are committed to processing as many applications as we have funding for, we do anticipate a high demand. Learn more.

Election Day Is Tuesday, Nov. 3
Tuesday, Nov. 3, voters will go to the polls for City elections, as well as federal, state, county and school district elections.
 
Also on the ballot is a proposal to utilize park land adjacent to Hollabaugh Recreation Center, 3925 W. Walnut St., as the site for relocation of the Walnut Creek Branch Library.
 
Early voting will begin Tuesday, Oct. 13, and run through Friday, Oct. 30. Monday, Oct. 5 is the last day to register to vote.

Annie Dickson Honored

Third Annual Garland Guzzler 0.5K Virtual Run Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27
Since we do not want all of you couch-potato, sofa-spud, barely-15-years-removed-from-your-prime athletes to miss out on all the fun, we will host this year’s Garland Guzzler 0.5K race VIRTUALLY!

Participants have the option to have their time tracked via a real-time race tracking app as well as the option of a route and location of their choosing. To have their times recorded, runners must complete the race between 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.

Downtown Garland Scavenger Hunt

Learn about local history while supporting downtown Garland businesses!

Visit the Landmark Museum at Heritage Crossing, 393 N. Sixth St., to get your scavenger hunt clues, lanyard and starting pin. Head to the business you think is the correct answer. If you're right, they will give you another souvenir pin. Once you have all 10 pins, return to the museum for a goodie bag!
COVID-19 Updates
The Garland Health Department has received reports of 473 active cases out of 6,855 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Garland residents since the beginning of the pandemic, as well as 58 deaths. The City will update its posted case numbers each afternoon.

The Garland Plan Commission meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7 p.m.

Virtual District 2 Town Hall
Oct. 5

This year, area residents can still get their fix of “fair fare” all in one convenient, walkable location – Downtown Garland’s historic Square! Enjoy fare "fit to be fried" from 13 eateries situated near the Square. There’s no admission fee, food items are reasonably priced, and everything can be enjoyed outdoors. Made Fresh & Local Virtual Concerts
We were not able to host our traditional outdoor Sounds of Summer Concert Series at the Square this year, so we are bringing a true Garland Fresh & Local concert experience straight into your living room! Get a front-row seat to our Made Fresh & Local virtual concert series every other Friday night featuring some of the area's best musicians and artists.
