Here is an update of what is happening at
House of Prayer this week!
Worship This Sunday
Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life." The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water, so that I may never be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water." John 4:13-15

We will conclude our focus on water this week with John 4, where we find Jesus sitting by a Samaritan well tired out and thirsty from his journey. While resting, a Samaritan woman showed up midday to draw water and he dared to ask her for a drink. She dared to ask him questions. Their conversation profoundly changed her and brought many from that city to believe in Jesus. Join us this Sunday as we explore our thirst for water that gives us both physical and spiritual life.
Family Mission Trip
The 14 families who travelled to Superior, WI last weekend are home and had a blast serving the community and spending time with one another. We got to go bushwhacking through a swamp, paint a hockey rink and some garden boxes, pull some weeds, pick up trash, and so much more with several partner organizations in town. We also enjoyed the marvelous hospitality, tasty food, and beautiful location of Camp Amnicon. It was also a great chance to continue building relationships between House of Prayer, Oak Grove, and Wood Lake Lutheran Churches - we already look forward to having another collaborative family trip next summer!
Luther Park Summer Camp Week
Five youth from House of Prayer leave this week for camp at Luther Park. They'll get many chances to play games, explore nature, sing songs, have campfires, and more. We ask that you pray for them this week that it would be a fun and faith-changing experience. We look forward to hearing how it goes and how they've grown. Thank you again to all the shareholders who invested in these important summer activities - you make these life changing events possible!

We pledge to give of ourselves, never forgetting that in the giving - we also receive the gift. Contact Sue Burt at 952-888-4939 for more information on the vital outreach.

Summer Collaboration Project-VEAP Diapers
The VEAP Collaboration Team, with a VEAP representative from each church - Oak Grove, House of Prayer, and Woodlake - asks you to bring diapers from now until the end of September. The diapers can be any size and quantity. If you would prefer they be purchased by others, please contribute with a check made out to House of Prayer and designate "VEAP Donate & Do" in the memo line.  We will pick a Saturday in October for volunteers to meet at the VEAP warehouse to repackage the diapers for distribution. During this repackaging, VEAP gives the volunteers a tour of their facilities so we can see the whole operation and how they serve our neighbors in need. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, so plan to bring your whole family. Thank you for your continued support of this awesome organization.
Book Discussion Group
We will be meeting on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 7:00pm in the Fireside Conference Room to discuss Small, Great Things by Jody Picoult. Everyone is welcome!
Let's Visit!
Would you like a visitor from one of our pastoral staff members? While we often hear of needs within the congregation, sometimes we are unaware of the needs within our family of faith. Pastor Ben or Pastor Kelly would be happy to visit any of our members or friends who would like a pastoral visit. These visits could be health related but could be for any reason. Contact the church office via telephone 612-866-8471 or Pastor Ben via email [email protected].
