Travel guidance from LWSD
Spring Break was April 5-9. We know that our breaks are typically a time when staff and families decide to travel. Throughout this pandemic, we have highlighted the role the community plays in minimizing the spread of the virus. This has been done by a number of measures and includes paying attention to the travel guidance put out by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). If you are traveling for non-essential purposes, we ask that you review the travel guidance and follow the steps outlined. By following this guidance, we can ensure that our schools, classrooms and community are in alignment with health and safety precautions. Thank you for your attention to this guidance.

Beagle Fetch 3.0 Next one is April 21st.
Families who are remote: we will continue to hold Beagle Fetch events throughout the year in a slightly updated format. Fetch events will now take place on Wednesdays from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Items will be left out for families to grab (some grade levels may have their areas supervised), and we will put all uncollected items in front of the school on the Thursday following each event. Grade-level teams will share more specific information about pick-up procedures in classroom newsletters. Please mark these Fetch dates on your calendar: 4/21, 5/19.

5th Grade Photos for the Yearbook
We are looking for 2 specific photos from our 5th grade students:
Baby Photo
It is a tradition for the yearbook to include both the school (taken last week!) and a baby picture provided by the family/guardians.
Please title your image as: Baby_LastName_FirstName_TeacherName.jpg
5th Grade Candid Photo
In a normal year, we have all the 5th graders gather at the school playground for a graduating class picture. Since we can’t do that this year, we’re asking for families/guardians to send a candid photos of their student so that we can put together a group collage.
Please title your image as: Candid_LastName_FirstName_TeacherName.jpg

A quick instruction guide to parking lot etiquette to ensure lines of cars flow efficiently and safety remains top priority; please follow these traffic tips:
- Buses only in the lane closest to the building.
- Drop off/pick up from the upper lot -- right lane only.
- The left lane is only for cars driving through or to park.
- Drop off/pick up children from the far side of the mailbox only. If your car is behind the mailbox, do not ask student to enter/exit vehicle.
- Parents are asked to stay in their vehicle.
- Continuously Pull Forward- do not park or let your child out if the car in front of you is moving.
- Reserved spaces are for staff.
- Do not pickup/drop off students in the small side lot.
- Rockwell is an idle-free zone. Turn off your engines as you wait in pick up lane.
These tips will ensure a safe arrival/departure and an expedited process.
