Families of IPS,

Hard to believe that in less than a week, we will have students in our halls at IPS. There has been so much planning that has taken place since March 12, our last time together with students! We have been planning a safe, educational experience this year for your students. Thank you for all your support and flexibility during this unprecedented time.

As promised, we have made a video to answer some of your questions!

Student-Teacher Assignments to be Released
Teacher assignment letters were mailed out today! Please know there was a great deal of time and effort to ensure the safety of students and staff when compiling these homeroom assignments. We will not be changing class placement.

Car Rider Pick-Up Tags
If you have opt-out of busing and your child(ren) are afternoon car riders, please pick up your car tags as well as safety procedures on Monday, August 31 from 9-11 a.m. in the front circle. Please remain in your car.

Masks
Students are required to wear masks during the school day. We will have planned mask breaks throughout the day. We also will have indoor mask areas for students to access on bad weather days. We are requesting that students bring extra masks to have at school in case they lose them, or they are damaged during the day. The school will have extras for students and staff if they need.

Preschool Start of the School Year
We look forward to welcoming all of our preschool students on Tuesday, September 8 for their first day of school. Please remember that parents must remain in their cars at drop off and pick up. The preschool staff will be in the front of the building, by the preschool doors, ready to greet you and your child.

Supply Lists
Supply lists are posted on our web page. If you ordered a supply kit, they will be in your child’s classroom by the first day of school. Please do not buy Clorox wipes. If they are in the supply kits ordered, we can send them home. The district has adequate supplies to clean areas properly.

Please DO not bring ALL the supplies on the first day of school. You can bring them gradually over the first week of school.

Please limit the amount of items you bring to school each day - just bring the essentials!

A message from your IPS PTO
When you receive your child’s classroom assignment tomorrow, please log on to www.IPSPTO.com and update your information in our private directory - you will be able to see who else is in your child’s class! As always, our directory is open to all registered IPS families for the first week of school. For year-long access, simply join the PTO!  Our membership drive is ongoing.  Standard membership includes directory access, discounted tickets to our events, a voting right at general meetings, and MUCH MORE. We are also offering IPride mask lanyards for the whole family, a chance to win an HP Laptop, and a special visit from a famous Blue Devil depending on which type of membership you choose! Thank you for your support.

This school year is unconventional, to say the least.  As an educator and as an IPS parent, I can assure you I have felt the same conflicting worries and feelings that you do about this upcoming year. I want to take this opportunity to promise you one thing: No matter where we are learning, the IPS PTO will continue to be the glue that holds our school community together. We will fulfill our mission of connecting parents, students and teachers to the school more than ever this year.

Our motto this year is “Make Today Great.” Sending you and your family best wishes for GREAT DAYS ahead at IPS!

IPS PTO President
