Greetings,
Girls Empowered Mentally for Success has met several key strategic goals this month. Our vision states that we are committed to creating healthy transitions for girls everywhere. Meeting their academic, cultural and mentoring needs remains at the fore front of the work we do. Helping girls navigate the challenges of life and successfully becoming community investors.
The 5th annual Girls Empowerment College Tour 2019 was a huge success during spring break. The tour allowed fifteen at-risk middle and high school girls to visit Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) , Johnson&Wales University (JWU), and Florida International University(FIU). The experience included guided tours of campuses and dorms.Girls experienced several mentoring sessions focused on the Seven Habits of Highly Affective Teens, written by Steven Covey, journaling , and creating self portraits. Girls enjoyed Asian Fusion Dining and accepted the challenge to eat with chop sticks. In addition to the wealth of information and fun girls did mock interviews, and had a pamper me night which included facials and nails.
Transitions Candles Social Enterprise is hosting candle parties to raise money. Candles are 100%soy and 100%of the proceeds go to help girls.
