Hymn of Praise Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee, verses 1,3,4 (UMH #89)
Joyful, joyful, we adore thee,
 God of glory, Lord of love;
hearts unfold like flowers before thee,
 opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness;
 Drive the dark of doubt away.
Giver of immortal gladness,
 fill us with the light of day!

Thou art giving and forgiving,
 ever blessing, ever blest,
well-spring of the joy of living,
 ocean depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our brother,
 all who live in love are thine;
teach us how to love each other,
lift us to the joy divine.

Mortals, join the mighty chorus
 which the morning stars began;
love divine is reigning o’er us,
 binding all within its span.
Ever singing, march we on-ward,
 victors in the midst of strife;
joyful music leads us sun-ward,
 in the triumph song of life.

Prayer of Intercession

Prayer of Confession
Amazing God, Giver of life and breath and joy, you are the Source of all good things. Thank you for all your blessings that you generously bestow on us. Lord, as we give you thanks in this moment, we also confess how often we fail to live out our thankfulness. We take for granted what we have, grumble about what we lack, and squander your abundant provision. Forgive us, O God. Open our eyes and our hearts to your abundance, such that generosity, gratitude, and grace are foundational in our daily lives. Amen.

HymnDear Lord and Father of Mankind v 1,3,4 (UMH #358)
Dear Lord and Father of mankind, forgive our foolish ways;
reclothe us in our rightful mind,
 in purer lives thy service find,
in deeper reverence, praise.

O sabbath rest by Galilee,
 O calm of hills above,
where Jesus knelt
 to share with thee
the silence of eternity, interpreted by love!

Drop thy still dews of quietness,
 till all our strivings cease;
take from our souls
 the strain and stress,
and let our ordered lives confess
 the beauty of thy peace.

HymnLeaning On the Everlasting Arms (UMH #133)
What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
 leaning on the everlasting arms;
what a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
  leaning on the everlasting arms.
Leaning, leaning,
 safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning,
 leaning on the everlasting arms.

O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
 leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
 leaning on the everlasting arms.
Leaning, leaning,
 safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning,
 leaning on the everlasting arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
 leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
 leaning on the everlasting arms.
Leaning, leaning,
 safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning,
 leaning on the everlasting arms.
