Sharon Lynn Campbell Returns as 2020 Upperville Colt & Horse Show Official Artist
Upperville, Va. - March 3, 2020 - The team at the Upperville Colt & Horse Show (UCHS), presented by St. Bride's Farm, is pleased to welcome back Sharon Lynn Campbell as the official artist for the 2020 event. Campbell's oil paintings have been featured at top horse shows around the nation for the past two decades. This year, the UCHS is pleased to present Campbell's work as the cover image of the 2020 prize list and program. The UCHS will be held June 1st, 2020 - June 7th, 2020 celebrating its 167th anniversary.
Campbell noted, "The inspiration for the cover came from the grand hunter ring that is surrounded by the big oak trees. The cover features a girl holding her horse as they walk, and you can feel the interaction between the two. The horse is a big chestnut, and I just love the highlights in his coat that shine through. I think this cover gives the full effect of this horse show and I am really proud of it."
Artwork created by Campbell can be found in numerous magazines, covers of programs, and featured in countless private collections and galleries all throughout the nation. Campbell is very hands on with her artistic process by meeting with clients for consultations at homes, farms, and horse shows. Campbell will be onsite for those interested in scheduling a meeting or viewing her portrait pieces during the 2020 UCHS.
"My favorite part of the [Upperville Colt & Horse Show] is the venue," Campbell explains. "The setting is amazing and the venue is gorgeous. The people there are great to work with, and the atmosphere of the whole show is just amazing. I love being a part of it."
The Upperville Colt & Horse Show was founded in 1853 and is the longest running horse show in the United States. Held in picturesque Upperville, Virginia, under the oaks, this iconic seven-day event draws top athletes from across the country to compete in internationally recognized hunter and jumper competition. Featuring an FEI CSI4* rating and a World Championship Hunter Rider designation, this event is an exciting boutique attraction for competitors and spectators alike.
