In Person Worship
Sunday April 25, Good Shepherd Sunday: Special Children's "Family Mass"

This Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday, and we will be celebrating the care our Savior gives to us. We will also be celebrating the children or our parish and their families with a special Mass for Children. The readings will be read by one of our youth, Ian Soos, and the Prayers of the People and the Eucharistic Prayer have been written especially for children.

We kindly ask that you give preference to families with children during the registration for Mass attendance this week. But please join us on zoom or facebook Live and help us pray for our children and their families.

I am looking forward to this special time with our children and their families. A blessed Eastertide to you all.

Outreach
Outreach needs your help! First, on Sunday, April 25th we will be collecting food donations in the church parking lot for the Somerset County Food Bank. We will begin collections after Sunday services until 1:30.

Secondly, May is our month to work on Saturdays for the Food Bank. We will need at least three people each Saturday to distribute food outside the Pentecostal Church on Davenport Street in Somerville. We need one person who can drive a van from Easy Street in Bound Brook to Somerville with the food. Please contact me by email if you can volunteer. mficzko@optonline.net. So far we have only a few people who have volunteered so please consider spending a Saturday morning helping those in need. Thank you.
Mother's Day Crumb Cake Survey
Want to make your Mother's Day special? How about ordering some St. Martin's-made Al-the- Baker's crumb cake for your Mother's Day breakfast. Our bakers will lovingly create a delectable treat wrapped in a bakery box and tied up with a ribbon, which you can then share with your mom or special person in your life. Fill out this form if you are interested in ordering some crumb cake:

New Procedures for Prayers of the People

We are trying a new procedure for the Prayers of the People. If you have a special intention for prayer that you would like to have included in the Prayers of the People on Sunday, please email your prayer request to Br. Philip Muniz at philip.muniz@gmail.com by Friday afternoon of each week.

You are encouraged to continue to share prayer concerns on Sundays during the Zoom Coffee Hour, but only the names sent to Br. Philip beforehand will be included in the Prayers (unless of course an emergency occurs). The names given will remain on the prayer list for a month, unless you tell Br. Philip to remove it before that time. After a month, if you would like to continue to have prayers offered for a particular person and concern, contact Br. Philip and ask that the name be included for one more month.
Church Vegetable Garden Update
We had a good turnout of Rite 13 and J2A to help prep the garden for planting but are still in need of supplies to get us ready for a season of growing. As you make trips to prep your own yard, please think of St. Martin's...we could use a lot more topsoil (inexpensive kind is fine) and a few more bags of manure. These can be dropped by the garden in the back parking lot at any time during the week, and we will be there after church on Sunday to continue the preparation. Please consider contributing to this effort - all food grown will be donated to the food bank on behalf of St. Martin's.

Parish Work Day
Place May 2nd on your calendar as our first Parish Work Day since the pandemic. We will need wheelbarrows to haul mulch, pitchforks, shovels, and a general day to spruce up the church. Bring your trowels and work gloves and enjoy seeing your fellow parishioners out in the fresh air. More info to come!
Keeper of the Light
There is a light at St. Martin's that never goes out. We call it the "Sanctuary Light". It reminds us of the presence of Christ who is with us always. If you would like to be the "Keeper of the Light" for a week, email Philip with the subject "Candle" at philip.muniz@gmail.com.
