Save the Date!
The 2019 4-H Achievement Night will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the N.C. Cooperative Extension-Alexander County Center.  Please make your meal reservations by Monday, March 9th. 

4-H Mystery Trip
Come spend a fun and educational day by participating in a 
4-H Mystery Trip scheduled for Friday, March 27 from
9:00 am - 3:00 pm.  The day is designed for youth ages 5-14 years old.  We will have 12 youth spaces available.  Cost is $12 and each participant should bring a bag lunch and a drink.  Deadline to sign up is March 20th.

Alexander County Commissioners Choice Awards
Applications are now available at the Extension Center for Commissioners Choice Awards. The is a great opportunity for clubs to be recognized for their volunteer efforts in 2019. The process is very simple and if a club places in the top 3 there are monetary awards available.   Each club can also nominate and individual for the Community Spark Award if they have not received it in the past.  Awards will be presented at the Alexander County Commissioners Meeting on Monday, April 6th.   If you need more information please call the Extension Center at 828-632-4451Applications are due on Monday, March 23, 2020.  For an application click on the following link:  2020 Application Form.
 

4-H Expressive Arts Contests
Entry forms for Talent, Photo, Craft and Fashion are available on the Alexander County 4-H Website.  All items and entry forms are due to the N.C. Cooperative Extension-Alexander County Center on Monday, May 4, 2020.  The 4-H County Activity Day will be held on Monday, May 18th.  If you have any questions regarding these forms please call our office. 


4-H Presentations and District Activity Day
Youth that were between the ages of 8-18 as of January 1, 2020 
can participate in  4-H presentations. Age divisions are as follows: 8-10,  11-13 & 14-18. There are many different categories to choose from to do a presentation on. Each county may enter two participants per age division per category to present at District Activity Day on June 20 in Richmond County. If you would like to participate in 4-H         Presentations please contact the N.C. Cooperative Extension-Alexander Center by May 4th. Reminder: two acts from the 
4-H Talent show will move on to the District Competition that will be held at District Activity Day.  A County Activity Day will be held on Monday, May 18 for those to compete at county level and work on presentations with DJ Salyer, 4-H Agent.  


AIRE
(Application, Interview, Resume, Electronic Video)


4-H'ers age 11-19 who wish to participate in the State-Level 4-H AIRE Program will need to submit / participate in the following AIRE components: Application, A VIDEO
Interview, Resume and Electronic Video: VE (3-minute   pre-recorded video based on this year 's VE question). It's Time to Re-enroll or Enroll in 4-H Online!!
Take a few minutes and please update your profile or if you have never enrolled in 4-H Online please do so.  If you plan to be active in a 4-H Club or enroll in any of our 4-H events you have to be enrolled in 4-H Online.  Below is the link:   https://nc.4honline.com/Login.aspx

NC 4-H Camp
Want to attend 4-H Camp at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC this summer?  Great!!  Alexander 4-H will be taking a group June 21-26, 2020.  4-H Camp is open to youth ages 8-14 and offers a variety based upon age.  If you would like more information please contact the N.C.
