Hello from Republic School District! Tiger Talk is an e-newsletter distributed the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month during the school year. Thanks for reading! Archives can be found HERE.

Due to school being out yesterday, we apologize for the delay in getting this communication out!
CSIP Update
The Republic School District completed year three (2018-2019) of a five year Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). The CSIP was developed during the 2015-2016 school year with input from over 1,000 community members and parents via survey. More than 120 people participated in goal teams to narrow the focus and provide sufficient direction for the District. Each year the District reports progress to the Board of Education and the following items were highlighted during the October academic updates presentation to the Board of Education. The Comprehensive School Improvement Plan can be viewed by clicking here.
  • REPMO Ready technology initiative has been fully implemented
  • CSIP academic measures continue to improve
  • Leadership, goal setting, and positive behavior support are strengths
  • Career exploration is a strength across the District K-12
  • Student interventions are helping students persist to graduation
  • Improved measures are needed for project based learning and blended learning
  • Student subgroup attendance just missed the goal of 94% in secondary schools

OTC Republic Campus Partnership
During the past year the Republic School District has been working with Ozarks Technical Community College to further academic partnerships which provide new learning options to Republic High School students. Beginning in the 2020-2021 school year, high school juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to access college level courses through OTC Republic. The District currently has a partnership with the OTC Springfield Campus and these options will remain, while further opportunities are established with OTC Republic. RHS students and parents should expect to see additional communication and details in December and January as students begin scheduling for the 2020-2021 school year in January.

OCTOBER 24:
Congratulations to Director of STRIPES 360, Ashlee Liska, for being named a Missouri Afterschool Network Afterschool Ambassador! In this role Mrs. Liska will work with local and state elected officials to advocate for afterschool programming in schools all across Missouri. She was chosen for this accolade due to her continued commitment of providing excellence in afterschool programming here in Republic, and being seen across the state as a "go to" director in which to learn best practices. We're #repmoproud of you, Mrs. Liska!

OCTOBER 25:
Isn't this beautiful?! Lyon Art Teacher, Mrs. Allen led students in creating this masterpiece that greets guests as soon as they arrive at Lyon Elementary. EVERY SINGLE STUDENT created a butterfly to resemble that their individuality and uniqueness contribute to making their school amazing! #repmoproud

OCTOBER 31:
How fitting is this in celebration of Halloween?! Mrs. Sigman's class hosted dads and grandpas for a pumpkin carving event! They even tied in the Leader in Me Habit they were focusing on in class, "begin with the end in mind" as the kids and adults each had to come up with a plan together before they started carving! #repmoproud

NOVEMBER 5:
We'd like to recognize Stephanie Byrne for being "A Sub Above!" Ms Byrne is a substitute teacher for the Republic School District, and is being recognized for going above and beyond to serve our students. We appreciate you and are thankful you choose to sub in Republic! If you know of someone who would make an excellent substitute, they can learn more at https://www.penmac.com/teach. #repmoproud

NOVEMBER 7:
We are so thankful for our Safety and Security Department! Our school officers not only work each day to make sure we have safe environments for students to learn, but they also spend time building relationships and visiting classrooms. Recently, you could find our officers speaking to elementary, middle school and high school classrooms about topics like "stranger danger," drug and vaping use along with information on the Fourth Amendment. We appreciate them so much! #repmoproud

NOVEMBER 12:
We are SUPER #repmoproud of Greyson and Abigail from Schofield Elementary who made Missouri's All State 4th and 5th grade Children's Choir! They will join a group of 120 students from across Missouri this January! AWESOME!!!!!

NOVEMBER 13:
Each year we truly enjoy celebrating Veterans Day across our district! The celebrations began on Friday with events at Price and McCulloch Elementaries. On Monday we celebrated at Lyon and Sweeny Elementaries along with assemblies at RMS and RHS. To complete our celebrations, Schofield Elementary will host a musical on Thursday evening. It is our absolute pleasure to take time every year to thank those who have served our country along with their families! #repmoproud #thankyouveterans
