Dear Galloway Family,
I hope this letter finds you well and that all your family and friends near and far are safe, healthy and happy after the recent "Hurricane Laura" scare. As we head into our third week back I want to reiterate how very proud I am of all that our students and teachers have accomplished. Mostly, during these COVID-19 times, I am really impressed at how our students are following procedures relating to wearing their masks, navigating the “one-way” hallways, using the sanitizing stations properly and really adjusting to the new normal of this pandemic.
For our E-Learners, I wanted to thank them all for working through the “first few weeks” technical glitches as we all really start to find our groove for our online instruction. Our teachers are working SO hard to master teaching BOTH in-person students and online students at the same time. It is quite the difficult task to manage two different groups of students as well as managing the various intricacies of Zoom, ItsLearning, Office 365, online textbooks and other resources simultaneously. I am confident that it will just get better and better each week as everyone adjusts to the new routines! As always, if you or your child need technology assistance, visit the tech section of this newsletter for how to contact our amazing Instructional Technology Coach, Ms. Fabiola Vacatoledo.
Don't forget! The Galloway Schools new instructional leader, Dr. Marny Doepken, will begin her transition over to Galloway starting the week of September 8, 2020. We will be working side by side for a few weeks, then there will be a gradual release into October. I am very excited for you to get to know her, so please look out for a future "Meet the Principal" opportunity during the month of September.
Let's make it a great third week of successful learning! Go OWLS!
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Williams
