Hi folks,
Truth be told, I've never watched any of the Fast and the Furious movies, but boy can we relate to the title right now as we head toward the final week of April. The last few days included our first track and field meet of the season and a virtual orientation for our incoming 6th grade families. Today's highlights include our 8th graders taking the Illinois Science Assessment followed by our very first virtual L.I.F.T. Day (Career Day). We are VERY excited to welcome more than two dozen guest speakers as they talk to our kids about their respective fields of work and their own journeys to this point. Should be an exciting day!
Enjoy the weekend...

Shout Outs
Congratulations to all of our students who participated in the Regional Science Fair recently. We are proud to share that 17 NBJH students have qualified to move on to the State Science Fair later next month. We also had three students who won Best in Category prizes -- Mackenzie Love, Caitlin Schuster and Danielle Yakhnis. Impressive work from our budding young scientists! And a sincere thank you to Mr. Frye, Mrs. Mendelson and Mrs. Paull for guiding students through this process.
IAR testing
Monday begins IAR testing for our students. Monday and Tuesday are the ELA tests while Wednesday and Thursday are the math tests. Testing begins each day at 8:35am in X-Block (or a small group testing location). Materials students should bring each day include:
- Charged iPad
- Earbuds/headphones (non-Bluetooth)
- Pencils
- Water bottle
- IR book
Testing concludes at 10:17am on M-T-TH and at 10:50am on Wednesday. Once testing is completed, students will attend abbreviated classes the remainder of the day.
RLA students coming to school for testing should drive through the back Meadowhilll Pool lot and drop students off at Door F by the garden. (This is where students should be picked up as well.)
