Please join us on March 26th for this year's Bostonians for Youth gala (BFY) as we celebrate our city's youth and honor Louise Burhnam Packard for her legacy of leadership that continues with Charmane Higgins, our new executive director. The festivities will be held at the newly renovated Intercontinental Hotel Boston and kick off with a cocktail reception followed by dinner, a live auction and program, and dessert & coffee. The majority of youth workers served by Trinity Boston Counseling Center (TBCC) report significant decreases in stress, and increased ability to do their job. TBCC's research on what helps drive positive outcomes for youth workers will gain national exposure this year. Their "Impact of Therapy on Youth Service Workers' Self-efficacy and Distress" poster has been accepted to the American Psychological Association's (APA) Annual Convention and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Conference -- both held in Washington DC. They are the psychology sector's premier events, giving TBCC an opportunity to share their work with over 12,000 of their peers from all over the country (go team!).
Katonya Burke (pictured left) and Rochelle Solomon (pictured right) are first time Boston Marathon Runners, but no strangers to running. Both ladies are local ambassadors for Black Girls RUN! Boston, a chapter in a nationwide running community aimed at tackling obesity in the African-American community, and encouraging and motivating black women to practice a healthy lifestyle. Katonya also serves as an Old Sole, and Rochelle is a longtime volunteer with Sole Train. We're so grateful that they chose to join Team Trinity for their first fundraising challenge of this kind, and run their first Boston Marathon in support of Sole Train.

OEP continued to build community among Boston non-profit organizations this month. They hosted the sixth meeting of The Racial Equity Leaders Learning Circle, a 10-month workshop for Boston youth serving non-profits, which provides a safe and trusted learning space for senior leaders to bring their most vexing racial equity challenges and to deepen their understanding of how they can each develop a racially equitable organization. A new offering, the POC Non-profit Half Day Retreat, was held as a space for non-profit professionals of color to connect and recharge. Be sure to check OEP offerings for March and the remainder of the program year.
