August 28, 2020
Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

What a week! While full of challenges, we also witnessed many blessings. We are grateful for the continued health of our students and staff. We also thank God for the protection of our families and community during Hurricane Laura while praying for those harmed by its path. And we see the blessing in the fact that our greatest loss was power in some of our neighborhoods. I hope that you are able to use Thursday and today for a little recharge and some time with family. We are about to enter the start of our fourth week of the quarter. Thank you for the tremendous support you continue to give me and our faculty and staff. Your children amaze me with their adaptability and resiliency. What a testimony to each of you! I can’t wait to see your students on Monday!

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker
Principal

NEW FOR 2020-2021 - PADUAN PARENTS GROUPME
GroupMe is a quick and easy way to communicate to a large audience. GroupMe will not take the place of the Messenger, Sign-up genius links, or other ways we communicate with parents. This new tool, however, allows quick 2-way communication between all Paduan Parent leaders and parent volunteers.

The goal for the PaduanParents GroupMe is to communicate volunteer opportunities or school needs quickly during this unusual year. We are grateful to our Paduan Parent Coordinators for helping to monitor and facilitate this group.

Rules of Engagement for Participation in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School’s GroupMe chats:
  • We encourage your participation in our GroupMe chats. We ask that you exercise civility and goodwill in your communication. Any user that posts comments that are intentionally rude or deride the opinions of others will be removed from the chat.
  • Feel free to ask questions about school activities or functions, or information distributed to inform parents.
  • Please refrain from asking grade-level or class-specific questions on the Paduan Parents chat. We will explore the option of adding grade-level specific groups with our room parents in September.
  • No profanity or vulgar comments
  • No accusations or accusatory language toward an individual or group of individuals.
  • No negative comments about teachers, staff or students
  • No comments not related to school activities or functions
  • GroupMe chat members with a question not school-related should contact their Paduan Parent Coordinators for their grade-level in person, by phone or by email.
  • Please do not add anyone who is not an enrolled parent at St. Anthony

What Is GroupMe?
  • GroupMe is a free group messaging app
  • Paduan Parents uses GroupMe to communicate school news and events with parents
  • People wanting to join can be added by a current GroupMe member
  • GroupMe has direct message features – a member can direct message another member in the same group
  • Phone numbers are hidden in the GroupMe app
  • Comments cannot be deleted once posted on GroupMe.
