It’s Thursday again (rather than Wednesday). Construction affects us in lots of little ways. This week we pushed everything ELSE forward because we thought we might not have internet Thursday. CHIMES was moved back to help us get everything else done! So, apologies for a delay but here we are… and the internet does work! Thanks go for a long night of detailed work to David Beach, his son Antony, and Dave Wilkinson. They are talented and faithful!
Good Shepherd Sunday is this week, when we remember Jesus telling us, “I am the good shepherd.” We will (as in past years) have a live lamb. Ashley and I will take children separately for a children’s sermon. There will be opportunity after the service for pictures of your family with the lamb. The weather forecast looks like rain and wind for Saturday and maybe Sunday, but if it is not suitable outside, we will be in the Great Hall which now has walls and ceiling covered with sheetrock. Every week, Scott Crumley’s crew gives us more and more capacity and capability, which allows much greater flexibility.
Saturday from 11am-1:00pm, our Young Historians group is sponsoring a roller skating party at the Haygood rink. We need RSVP’s as we have registered it for 50 skaters. If adults come and skate there is a fee for skate rental, but for youth and children, all is free, including pizza thanks to the Historical Traditions Commission! See below for details and RSVP information.
THANK YOU for your generous support of the teacher supplies collection for our neighbor Pembroke Meadows Elementary School. Your in-gathering was a tremendous success and is being delivered (along with this month’s group of “Beach Bag Lunches”) this week.
See you Sunday for some more glorious worship (with live lamb),
~Bob+
