Please wear masks, avoid gatherings of multiple families and sleepovers, wash hands frequently, and talk with your children about ways to stay safe in any situation. We strongly desire to continue with in-person learning and are encouraged that spread from student to student within school is not occurring; however, we must ALL work together to keep each other safe!

God bless,

Corey

Please Support Guardian Angels On Giving Tuesday

Guardian Angels is Family. We are a Parish deeply committed to growing Angels through our unique school ministry that started in 1895. This mission is our inheritance, our responsibility, and our legacy.

Due to lower enrollment and tuition revenue, a reduction in state financial support, and special expenses related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the projected parish subsidy for Guardian Angels School will triple to nearly $600,000 this fiscal year. The Sunday Offertory is the primary revenue source for Parish commitments, and it too has decreased significantly as a result of lower pandemic attendance at Mass.

These are unprecedented, challenging times, yet Guardian Angels School remains open as a beacon of Christ’s light and normalcy for our children. Charity begins at home. The Tuesday after Black Friday is known as Giving Tuesday. It is a movement to encourage you to give back to your community. This year Guardian Angels is participating in the Archdiocese’s I Give Catholic Giving Tuesday Campaign that takes place on December 1st. Please prayerfully consider a special sacrificial donation of thanksgiving on Giving Tuesdayfor your Guardian Angels School family. Be on the lookout for an email on December 1st with a specific link to donate.

Due to current health guidelines, we do not plan to hold our annual Servathon, which is the only fundraising event our school holds each year. We ask families who typically support our Servathon through donations to the school to please donate through Giving Tuesday instead.

We are also attaching our Annual Report for full financial transparency and have included a link to our Pandemic Report to highlight the efforts taken this year to keep our community connected in these unusual circumstances.
Construction on Beechmont Avenue

We have been informed of construction that will occur close to the intersection of Beechmont Avenue and Birkshire Avenue (on the bridge). Traffic will be reduced to one lane at times and will potentially occur during our arrival and dismissal times. This work is expected to begin November 16th; construction could last several months. We anticipate delays. Please be prepared for this by leaving earlier and planning ahead.
St. Vincent de Paul Food Drive

Each year, the St. Vincent de Paul Society asks Guardian Angels families to help provide food for the poor and needy. Your donation helps over 125 families in the Mt. Washington area have a nice Thanksgiving dinner. You can send all items with your child to their homeroom. Donations are due Wednesday, November 18. See the attached flyer for more details. Thank you for your generosity!
Sweatshirt Fridays

We are so thankful for our Angels! Throughout the month of November, students are invited to wear their favorite sweatshirt to school on Fridays. All sweatshirts must be school appropriate. Students may also choose between school bottoms or GA sweatpants. School appropriate t-shirts should be worn under sweatshirts if warmer weather continues and sweatshirts are to be removed. Please join us in appreciating our Angels and all the gifts they share with our community!
Lunch & Recess Volunteers Needed

Cooler days will be arriving soon and our GA School community could use your help! Our hard working teachers are in need of additional support to supervise their classes during lunch and a few recess duties. We are in search of 4 volunteers who are willing to "mask up" and join us from 11:00-1:15. Could you share a particular day each month? Or maybe more? Please join us to help! You can sign-up here. Be sure to include your child/children's homeroom(s) in the comments. We'll also do our best to match your child’s class since our students will be placed in different areas of our campus for lunch and recess.

All volunteers must be VIRTUS trained and up to date with their bulletins.

RSVP For Christmas Mass Now

This has been a year with many unique challenges due to a worldwide pandemic; celebrating Christmas together will be no different. This year we are asking each of our families to RSVP to a specific Mass by November 29th so we can make sure we are following current health guidelines. Masses are filling up very quickly!

The following Mass opportunities still have spaces available:
Christmas Eve: 5:00pm in the PC Gym, 11:00pm in Church
Christmas Day: 9:00am & 11:00am, both in Church
Our Christmas Eve 3pm & 5pm Masses in Church and the 3pm Mass in the PC Gym are FULL.
Masses in the PC Gym are separate Masses, not a live stream from Church. If you plan to live-stream Mass, you do not need to RSVP. You can RSVP by clicking here. If you cannot complete your RSVP online, please call the Religious Education Office at (513)624-3146.

We will also be looking for a number of volunteers to help with Christmas Masses. If you are able to help, please click here to choose a volunteer opportunity.

Kroger Community Rewards
Have you signed up for Kroger Community Rewards and designated GA as your beneficiary? The more families who register, the more money our school receives through the program. Kroger Community Rewards offers a great way for you to support our school's technology fund...and you don't have to spend a penny. You can search for GA or use our NPO number, 80200. The amount Guardian Angels receives depends on the points our supporters rack up while grocery shopping.
