Village of Key Biscayne Ends Curfew

The Village of Key Biscayne has issued an Emergency Order terminating the curfew currently in effect between the hours of 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM within the Village of Key Biscayne effective April 20, 2021.

Village Council Seeks to Fill Vacancies on Advisory Boards

The Village of Key Biscayne is seeking to fill vacancies on the following Advisory Boards: the Parks and Open Space Board, the Education Advisory Board, Board of Special Magistrates, Village Athletics Advisory Board, the Art in Public Places Board and the Winter Concert Series Board.

 

The Mayor will make his recommendations out of the applicants at the Tuesday, April 27, 2021 Regular Council Meeting.

 

In order to be considered for an appointment, applicants must submit the following:

·   Name

·   Address

·   Phone Number

·   Email Address

·   Current Resume

 

The Office of the Village Clerk will compile the names and forward them to the Mayor for review. Please send the requested information to jkoch@keybiscayne.fl.gov.

All information requested above must be included.

 

The deadline to submit is Friday, April 23, 2021 at 4:30 p.m.

COVID-19 Testing and Vaccinations

The Village of Key Biscayne and Key Biscayne Community Center are working with the Key Biscayne Community Foundation to assist our community’s seniors with appointments to get vaccinated against COVID-19; to sign-up for a vaccine (upon availability) visit vaccinatekb.com or contact the Foundation at 305-361-2770.

 

Currently, Florida residents 16 and over are eligible for COVID-19 vaccine; 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and have the consent form. Additionally, Miami-Dade County has details about all of the vaccination sites in the county, including local, state and federal sites; click here for Miami-Dade's site.


Note that at this time, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is not being offered. For the latest news, the Miami Herald is publishing a daily article with Unlimited Access.


Testing Options in Key Biscayne:


The Village of Key Biscayne has partnered with Curative Inc. to offer a COVID-19 testing kiosk at the southeast corner of the Village Green (by the public restrooms) and mobile testing van in Calusa Park. The kiosk and van are operational from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., six days a week (Monday through Saturday). Patients can sign-up for testing in advance by visiting the Curative website or on-site.

 

Additionally, drive-through testing at the Key Biscayne Community Center remains available 2-days per week by appointment only and is self-pay. The COVID-19 self-pay cost at the drive-through testing is $85 and registration is available on the Key Biscayne Community Foundation website. Dates are subject to change, please confirm your date and time when making your appointment.

 

Additional testing options include the Baptist Health Urgent Care Express located

at 240 Crandon Blvd. Suite #110; CVS Pharmacy located at 726 Crandon Blvd; and Ethos Wellness Pharmacy, located at 260 Crandon Blvd C33.

Fitness Center, Lap Pool & Basketball Court Online Registrations Available for KBCC Members

The fitness center, lap swimming pool and basketball courts are available with online registration for KBCC members. Details about online registration, hours of operation, membership requirements, operating procedures and safety protocols are available HERE.

 

KBCC OPERATING HOURS (online reservations required):

  • Monday-Thursday 7:00 AM - 8:30 PM
  • Friday                7:00 AM - 6:30 PM
  • Saturday              7:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • Sunday               CLOSED
