Carol Shares Elephant Insights with 21st Century Radio

Carol Buckley on 21st Century Radio

21st Century Radio's Dr. Zohara Hieronimus recently interviewed EAI founder and CEO Carol Buckley on her life's work with elephants. Carol discussed the emotional behavior of elephants, how their needs change over time and how we can best meet those needs. She explained Elephant Refuge North America's philosophy of elephant care, which is based on providing autonomy, companionship, respect and individualized attention to each elephant's needs.

Lessons from the Elephants Webinar Series

The Kerulos Center for Nonviolence is presenting a four-part webinar series in which Carol will explore elephant psychology and what elephants can teach us as human beings. She will offer insights from her more than 40-year career on what we can learn from elephants to help humanity move from a culture of separation and violence to shared, enlightened consciousness.

Each webinar will include a lecture followed by a Q&A session. They will take place on October 20 and 27 and December 8 and 15. If you miss one, you'll be able to watch the recording later.

80 of 100 Mahouts Sponsored!

sponsor a mahout

Thank you to everyone who has helped bring us near our goal of 100 mahouts sponsored for the upcoming EAI foot trimming workshops in Nepal next month. Just 20 more to go!

Mahouts have few chances to improve their skills and learn new ones. They come to our workshops with energy, excitement and hunger to learn. Then they return home eager to share what they've learned with their fellow mahouts, spreading positive change for elephants and humans alike.

Your $50 sponsorship will cover a mahout's room and board during the workshop, transportation to and from, a set of foot trimming tools to keep, hands-on instruction and a small stipend.

We are so close! Please help us reach our goal of 100 sponsorships.
