Annual Meeting
Touch-ups Special Edition

Countdown to
Annual Meeting & Tool Auction

Our Annual Meeting is less than 3 weeks away (Sept 21), and it will be a great one. In addition to taping of a podcast by Fine Woodworking and a demo by FWW Creative Director Michael Pekovich, our Tool Auction is returning with our Official Guild Auctioneer, Jon Siegel at the gavel. See the Calendar for details.

If you are donating items for the Auction, please try to be there by 8 a.m. when the doors open so the auction crew will have time to sort things out. See the Annual Meeting announcement on our website for auction guidance. Here are some additional guidelines:

  • Power Tools must be in working order, and cordless tools must have a fully charged battery and charger. This way, we can assure bidders that they are getting a quality, useful tool to add to their shop.
  • If your tool has an interesting story to tell, please write it on a 3x5 index card and attach it to the item. Maybe that tool was used by your great grandfather, or the plane was one you honed your skills on [pun intended] when you first started to learn about our craft.
  • If you are bringing wood, please tell us something about it – species, condition, etc. – anything YOU would like to know if you were bidding on it.
  • And, remember, if it doesn’t “sell” we ask you to take it back home when you leave. But I’m willing to bet that nothing will be left behind with all the fine quality and bargain stuff that will be in the auction.

If you are planning to bid [and even if you’re not -you never know] please register when you arrive and pick up a numbered card.  Didn’t bring enough cash for that bargain you couldn’t resist? No problem – we will also accept credit cards and checks.

The auction is a fund raiser for your Guild, and proceeds are used to support our programs and Guild activities. Thank you in advance for supporting the auction through your donations and bids. It will be a fun auction.
